Spring rejuvenates and inspires us with hopes of warm
weather, laughter and outdoor fun. However, this perfect
scenario is not one that is realistic for people who suffer
from plant/pollen allergies - spring brings discomfort that
can last until fall. Appropriate anti-oxidant combination
help alleviate allergy misery naturally with no
uncomfortable allergy needles and no anti-histamine tablets
that dry you out.
Here is a simple science lesson that can help you balance
your system. Molecules in our bodies have a combination of
protons and electrons that need to remain balanced. When
electrons are removed or oxidized from the molecular
structure by free radicals (oxidizing agents), found in our
system and in our environment, the molecular structure is
de-stabilized. Cells are destroyed and enzyme formation is
altered, thus creating negative effects like allergies and
colds. Anti-oxidants block free radicals from doing this
damage. They protect natural enzymes and allow proper
functioning. We should ensure that our bodies contain enough
anti-oxidant to inhibit free radicals that cause the immune
system to over react to substances such as dust and pollen.
Bioflavonoid, commonly found in citrus fruit and vegetables,
are powerful carriers of anti-oxidants but here is another
extremely effective bioflavonoid present in pine tree bark
or grape seed extract called proanthocyanidins. Tests
indicate it to be 50 times more effective than Vitamin E and
20 times more than Vitamin C, it serves as an excellent
anti-inflammatory, anti-histamine, anti-allergen and
anti-haemorrhage. Anti-oxidant combinations and immunity
boosting substances found in plants and herbs work together
creating maximum body functioning. The ultimate combination
for the prevention of seasonal allergies consists of
proanthocyanidins and a herb called black seed.
Black seed has been used for centuries to treat arthritis,
bronchial asthma, parasitic infections, gastrointestinal
ailments, improve liver, kidney and circulatory system
functioning and increase resistance to diseases. The active
ingredient in black seed is Nigellone, which not only helps
prevent histamine-induced broncho spasm, it also serves as
an anti-tumour agent. Allergic reactions are caused by an
impaired immune system and the usual medications do not cure
the cause only the symptoms. The combination of
proanthocyanidins from pine bark or grape seed extract and
black seed in capsule form, available at health food stores,
is excellent for strengthening the immune system and
minimizing allergic reactions. These natural substances work
together to free the body of oxidizing agents and increase
the immune systems’ ability to ward off unwanted bacterial
agents.
The result is a decrease in allergic reactions and a reduced
risk of chronic illness. Spring cleaning must begin from
within. Take a deep breath, enjoy the fresh Air and have an
allergy-free summer.
