The hardest working
creatures on earth may hold the answer to one of life’s most
common complaints: low energy. The buzz word for improved
stamina and greater endurance is royal jelly, also known as
the miracle food that can turn a worker bee into a queen bee
and drastically prolong its life. In combination with
another of nature’s restoratives, black seed, royal jelly
can do wonders for the mentally and physically fatigued.
Royal jelly is made up of 66 per cent water, 15.5 per cent
carbohydrates, 4.5 per cent lipids, 13 per cent protein as
well as 22 amino acids. According to many western
scientists, royal jelly promotes physical and mental output
and provides antibiotic properties, aiding in cold/flu
prevention.
The Chinese have stood by
royal jelly for over 2,000 years as a source of longevity,
revitalization and restoration. For specific ailments, it is
believed to regulate blood pressure, curtail the effects of
arthritis and promote a healthy adrenal gland. It also has
the added benefit of decreasing the body’s susceptibility to
infection resulting from fatigue and there are no known ill
side effects.
The restorative powers of
royal jelly are never more beneficial than when taken in
combination with Nigella Sativa or black seed. Like royal
jelly, black seed has been used as a traditional remedy for
more than 2,000 years and more than 50 different ailments
are believed to be treatable with it. Arthritis,
gastrointestinal complaints, parasite infestations and
bronchial asthma top the list. Black seed is also used to
improve kidney and liver function, circulation and immunity
from disease. Black seed’s active ingredient, crystalline
Nigellone, contains 15 amino acids, including all the
essential acids, fixed and volatile oils, alkaloids,
Saponins, crude fiber, proteins and carbohydrates. Calcium,
iron, sodium and potassium are also part of its make-up.
Extensive research has shown that black seed helps to
balance and stabilize the immune system. It is particularly
beneficial in treating auto-immune diseases like multiple
sclerosis. In bolstering the body’s immune system, repairing
respiratory ailments and, like royal jelly, eliminating
discomfort caused by arthritis, black seed has the fringe
benefit of increasing energy. Increasing demands on our time
and bodies can lead to system break-down. A well-balanced
diet and regular exercise are key to staying healthy, but
for those who lead less active lifestyles, black seed and
royal jelly may be just the fuel your body needs to renew
its vitality and help you manoeuvre through life’s daily
obstacles at top speed. Royal jelly and black seed can be
taken in convenient capsule form, available in health food
stores.
